Make your coffee count!
It’s estimated that 70,000 British Columbians are affected by dementia, and this number is growing. You can show these people your support this September and October by hosting a Coffee Break®!
Coffee Break® is a national annual fundraiser where friends, families and co-workers gather in communities to raise money for their local Alzheimer Society. Hosts and attendees make their coffee count by exchanging donations for a cup of coffee, tea or other treat.
You can make your event big or small. You can host a public or a private event. You can hold it anywhere you have permission to: offices, schools, retirement homes, your workplace, community centres, or in your living room – wherever coffee can be served and a donation collected!
We make it easy by sending you everything you need to get started! It’s then as simple as offering coffee in exchange for a donation. You can also offer tea or juice as well as coffee, and add treats to help increase donations.
When you host a Coffee Break® in your community, you help raise much needed funds for research into the causes and cure for dementia, and support local programs and services to help people living with dementia and their caregivers live well with the disease. Ultimately, you will be helping us build a dementia-friendly society that is supportive of people who are affected by dementia.
