Help us uncover a cure
The ultimate vision of the Alzheimer Society of B.C. is a world free of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. That’s one of the reasons why we fundraise – to support research that seeks to find the causes and cure for dementia.
But before there’s a cure there’s care.
Until our ultimate vision is realized, we’re committed to building a dementia-friendly society and supporting British Columbians who are affected by the disease. As the little things like tying shoes, and the big things like recognizing family members become more difficult, we provide information, education and support to help provide the best life possible. We are achieving this by:
- Connecting people at any stage of the dementia journey to give them access to our services through First Link® Dementia Support. This includes support groups, education sessions, tele-workshops and Minds in Motion®.
- Leading a movement through our Dementia-Friendly Communities initiative. By working with municipalities, businesses and individuals we are helping British Columbia to be a more inclusive, respectful and supportive province for people living with the disease.
- Sparking change by advocating at all levels of the government on behalf of people affected by dementia, and encouraging and supporting people who wish to advocate for themselves .
With your financial contribution we can continue to support and educate British Columbians affected by dementia, and contribute to research into the causes and cure for dementia. Please consider donating today. With your help, we can move toward a world without Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
