Position Title: Sponsor Relations 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s

Position Summary:

To collaborate with the Events Coordinator to recruit sponsors. Ensure that the sponsors are recognized appropriately in accordance with their sponsorship agreement.


1. Collaborate with the Events Coordinator to develop a list of potential sponsors

2. Collaborate with the Events Coordinator in approaching potential sponsors with a proposal. Approach potential sponsors to ascertain their participation. Work with the sponsor to tailor the sponsorship agreement according to their needs and requirements.

3. Follow-up with potential sponsors as necessary.

4. Review each sponsor agreement and ensure that the agreement is fulfilled.

5. Coordinate sponsor signage and recognition at the Walk.

• Attend Orientation Session for new volunteers


• To the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County: to represent the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County to the community and to the participating locations in a professional and friendly manner
• To the Planning Committee Chair and the Events Coordinator: to fulfil all responsibilities in a timely and acceptable manner
• To the Participating Sponsors: to interact with all sponsors in a professional and friendly manner; to ensure that all sponsors are recognized according to their sponsorship agreement


• Opportunity to work with the other members of the committee and the community to plan a successful event

• Satisfaction of having contributed to the success of the Walk for Alzheimer’s by assisting with the extensive advertising of the event

Time Commitment:

• Monthly Planning Committee meetings beginning November 2016 to May 2017, approximately 2 – 3 hours
• Follow-up sponsor proposals, approximately 2 – 4 hours during work day – calls from home
• Sponsor development: approximately 2 hours per month
• Attend the Walk for Alzheimer’s on Sunday, May 28, 2017
