Have you received a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE, WE’RE HERE TO HELP
Take our hand…
We will accompany you throughout the journey…
Receiving a diagnosis raises many questions. In making an early link with your regional chapter of the Alzheimer Society, your family gains access to an environment of learning, support and services.
Families will benefit from information, training and contact with other families facing situations similar to their own.
DAY TO DAY:
A healthy support network and understanding can make all the difference!
Each family is paired with one of the Alzheimer Societies’ counsellors who can accompany them, answer questions, guide them towards services and offer psychological support throughout the journey.
Important and relative topics will be discussed during the meetings:
- Understanding Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias and the changes that accompany them
- Living with Alzheimer’s disease
- Planning for the future
- The importance of a healthy lifestyle and well being
- Reducing stress
Couples and families in the early stages of the Alzheimer journey can join a coffee meeting group in their community.
