Dementia Friends Canada

A Dementia Friend is someone who takes the time to learn a little about dementia so that they can be supportive and inclusive toward people living with dementia. They understand that dementia is not a natural part of aging and that it isn’t just about losing your memory – it can affect thinking, communicating and everyday activities. They know that it is possible to live well with dementia, that there is more to a person than their diagnosis.

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is here to help people with dementia and their care partners, and we want you to join us by viewing the video below and becoming a Dementia Friend.

Dementia Friends is an initiative sponsored by the Public Health Agency of Canada in partnership with Alzheimer Societies across the country.
