Penticton resident honours grandparents with two fundraising events in the area
Penticton resident Jennifer Stickney is holding two fall fundraising events to honour her grandparents and support people affected by dementia in the community.
Three out of four of Jennifer’s grandparents lived with dementia – both her grandfathers and one of her grandmothers. “It’s tough watching people you love deteriorate over time. My grandparents forgot who I was and how to take care of themselves,” Jennifer says.
Jennifer’s personal connection inspired her to help other people who are affected by dementia and to create two fundraising events.

“I’m hoping these two events can help fund research and also create awareness so that people can better understand what dementia is and how we can help our loved ones,” Jennifer says. “It’s up to us to spread the word and help people who are affected.”
