Art in the Garden
Vic Ptasznik, a cottager at Mountain Lake who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2012, will be raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society of Grey Bruce on Saturday, July 9th from 10-4 selling wooden toaster tongs to save your fingers. (Rain date July 10th) Art in the Garden at Keppelcroft Gardens in Big Bay down the road from the General Store and Big Bay dock will feature 40 artists displaying and offering for sale beautiful pottery, jewelry, paintings, baskets, fabric art and more.
Vic is a retired lawyer who was an avid woodworker who built beds, tables, bookshelves and many other pieces for his family in Michigan, Ohio, and at the cottage at Mountain Lake. With the help of friends, Vic is still in his workshop many days but with much smaller projects. This will be the third year Vic has spent the winter making items to sell for our local chapter's benefit. You can find him at Art in the Garden along with 40 other artists. Vic and his wife Peggy are happy to talk about their experience living with Alzheimer's and its impact on them and their family. They will have information from our chapter at their booth. Stop by to talk with them as you enjoy the beautiful Keppelcroft Gardens.
