About the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts
Founded in 1991 and Incorporated in 1994, the Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts is here to improve the quality of life of individuals who are affected or who may become affected by Alzheimer disease or a related dementia and their caregivers.
The Alzheimer Society of Kenora/Rainy River Districts covers a large geographic region of the North West of Ontario. These communities include Kenora and Rainy River Districts: Red Lake, Ear Falls, Sioux Lookout, Hudson, Ignace, Dryden, Vermilion Bay, Fort Frances, Emo, Rainy River, Sioux Narrows, Nestor Falls, and Kenora, along with Fifty-One First Nation Communities.
The Society is a non-profit organization that receives 45% funding from the North West LHIN & MOHLTC they fund us for our First Link & Public Education at 1.38 positions. We manage to serve the area with our Client Services Coordinators - 1 full time staff in Kenora, part time in Dryden & Fort Frances, 1 full-time Office and Events Coordinator and 1 full-time Executive Director in the Kenora office serving the Districts.
