IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's 2020
This year’s Walk wasn’t the same without the presence of our dear friend, Terry Geerlinks, but her family and her spirit were there in full force! Shelley Green spoke to the crowd about Terry before the Lights of Hope. Click here to read her words of tribute.
Oxford County Hits Another Record!
The Alzheimer Society of Oxford is thrilled to announce that this year’s IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s events in Tillsonburg and Woodstock have raised a record-breaking $195,000.
We could not have achieved this success without the dedication, commitment and generosity of our sponsors, silent auction and door prize donors, volunteers, walkers and all those who gave pledges to our walkers.
A heart-felt thank you to this year’s three Major Sponsors: Coop’s Construction, Toyota TMMC and Palleck Orthodontics, as well as our Media Sponsor, 104.7 Heart FM, and all our long-term and new sponsors.
The Walker Wall of Fame recognizes participants who have raised more than $7,000 for the Alzheimer Society of Oxford over the years and is a bright light at our Walks. To see the Walker Wall of Fame members and to read about why they are so dedicated to raising funds for the Alzheimer Society, click here.
The Silent Auctions were a big hit at both of our Walks again this year. Thank you to our volunteers who make up the Silent Auction Committees for the hours of work put in to making our Silent Auctions such a polished success that participants enjoy and look forward to.
For the first time, volunteers formed a new Green Team and made several changes to both of our Walk for Alzheimer’s. Their suggestions and initiatives resulted in great advances to make our Walks more environmentally conscious this year!
The funds generated by the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s are essential for the Alzheimer Society of Oxford, as the organization raises 42% of its budget ($470,000.00 this year alone). We are thankful to the provincial government (through the Local Health Integration Network) for providing 58% of our funding.
Thank you to everyone in Oxford who made this amazing success possible!!!
