IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's 2020
Tillsonburg: Saturday, January 18th, 2020 - 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Woodstock: Saturday, January 25th, 2020 - 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Canadians are living longer and age is the biggest risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Across the country, 564,000 Canadians are living with dementia. By 2031 (just 11 years away), this figure is expected to rise to 937,000, an increase of 66 percent.
We still don’t understand the causes. And we have yet to find a cure.
By walking you can be part of the solution. You can honour the memory of those who are no longer with us and support our work to help people who have dementia now, live well.
In Oxford County alone, over 2000 people are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Money raised at our Walks make a significant difference to those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, their families, friends and caregivers in Oxford County. The Alzheimer Society of Oxford receives approximately 59% of its funding through the Local Health Integration Network.
The remaining 41% ($460,000.00) has to be raised locally to offer the wide variety of programs and services the Alzheimer Society provides.
