Ways To Help During COVID-19

Totes for Scrubs

During COVID-19, the Alzheimer Society of Oxford wants to show our support and appreciation to healthcare and other workers in nursing and retirement homes. Caps for COVID will allow the workers to keep their hair covered and out of their faces while working. Sewing caps and donating them to local facilities is a concrete way we can show care and appreciation to the workers caring for those living in nursing and retirement homes during this pandemic.

You can find the instructions on how to make caps here.

If you are interested in sewing caps, please send an email to [email protected] including your name, email address, what town or city you live in Oxford County and Tanya will be in contact to let you know which facility(ies) need caps in your area and any specific instructions on where and when to drop them off.

The Alzheimer Society of Oxford will not be accepting caps at our office as we are closed and not able at this time to distribute the caps.

Thank you so much for choosing to respond to the needs of the healthcare and other workers in nursing and retirement homes in Oxford during COVID-19.

Totes for Scrubs

The Alzheimer Society of Oxford wants to show our support and appreciation to healthcare and other workers in nursing and retirement homes during the pandemic.  The Ear Savers for Heroes bands will help make wearing a mask much more comfortable. Crocheting the bands is a way for you to show the workers in nursing and retirement homes that you recognize and appreciate the care they are providing to their residents.

You can find the instructions on how to crochet Ear Savers for Heroes here.

If you are interested in crocheting Ear Saver bands, please send an email to [email protected] including your name, email address, what town or city you live in Oxford County and Tanya will be in contact to let you know which facility(ies) need bands in your area and any specific instructions on where and when to drop them off.

Totes for Scrubs

A wonderful idea was created by Bethany Fulton, a nurse at the Woodstock General Hospital, and the Alzheimer Society of Oxford would like to encourage sewers to get involved in helping front-line healthcare workers. Totes for Scrubs will allow front-line healthcare workers to more safely carry their uniforms home and launder during this pandemic.

You can find the instructions on how to make your tote here.

If you are interested in sewing totes, please send an email to [email protected] including your name, email address, what town or city you live in Oxford County and Tanya will be in contact to let you know which facility(ies) need totes and any specific instructions on where and when to drop them off.
