Grieving Individuals

Upon the death of an individual with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, a grief response can be complicated by the fact that care providers may have already been grieving for many years over the loss of abilities, personality, and relationships with the person affected. The Alzheimer Society of Oxford offers a time-limited Grief Program to support clients to move through their grief process, and to facilitate the transition from active support services from the Alzheimer Society. Topics include understanding the experience of grief and mourning, working through a ‘grief toolkit’, and making healthy responses to loss.

The program is offered on an as-needed basis. If you are interested in participating in this group, please contact the Alzheimer Society of Oxford at 519-421-2466.
