More than 3,000 Walkers in 114 communities across eastern Canada raise over $835,000 online so far!
Walking is no longer just a fundraiser. It’s an annual tribute – honouring the memory of someone who meant the world to you or supporting a friend in need. There are still two weekends of walks left before they head west during January, Alzheimer Awareness month. Be sure to visit www.walkforalzheimers.ca to register for a Walk in your community or show your support online.
And don’t forget to join us on social media for the Still Alice/#WhyIWalk contest. Visit our contest post on Facebook and comment with the reason you participate with hashtag #WhyIWalk. You could win one of 10 Still Alice gift packs courtesy of Sony Home Entertainment, including a DVD copy of the film, book and bookmark!“When my Dad was passing, it broke my heart that he was alone. We were with him 24/7, but in his mind he was alone, he didn't know us. I'll think about that as long as I live. No one should have to suffer with this disease and lose so much of their life to it. If I can raise enough money to help one research program run one test, I will feel that I have made a difference for finding a way to prevent it, or a cure.”
