Volunteer Profile - Angus McLennan

Angus has been volunteering with the Alzheimer Society for eight years.  His wife Muriel was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease 12 years ago and when she moved into a long term care facility, Angus decided to give back to the organization that had been helping them along their journey.  A diner himself, Angus started making phone call reminders to other diners and he has been doing it ever since!

Angus feels that volunteering for the Alzheimer Society is very fulfilling.  He specifically enjoys connecting with people when he calls them, often chatting and sometimes, sharing his personal experiences to help them along their dementia journey.

Angus spent 25 years teaching electronics in the Technology Program at Confederation College before his retirement.  In addition to his support of our organization, he volunteers in the ReStore at Habitat for Humanity and with Meals on Wheels.  Angus loves the outdoors, especially at his cottage, and likes to go hunting and fishing.  He is a diehard Blue Jays fan and of course, enjoys spending time with his wife, his two children and his grandson as often as he can.
