Music at Home Program

The Alzheimer Society of Huron County knows how important music is to living well with dementia. We have music players that can be personalized with the music of your choice. Find out more here.

iPods for Memories

Our iPod program has been a mainstay at our society since 2012. The premise is simple - ask the person with dementia what kind of music they love, upload it to an iPod or MP3 player, add some headphones - and watch the magic.

See the program in action on our YouTube Channel!

Thanks to donations from the Central Huron Community Fund, we currently have iPods, Sony MP3 Players, and headphones available for our registered clients. Contact our office to find out more.

Simple Music Players

In 2021, we added Simple Music Players to our Music Lending Library. The idea behind these is simplicity: Lift the Flap to start the music, Close the Flap to stop the music. A simple push button forwards the playlist to the next song. This player puts the control into the hands of the music listener.

See a video demonstration here - you will be won over!

We were able to purchase these players with assistance from the United Way of Huron Perth. We have a limited supply available for our registered clients.
