Evolution of visuospatial abilities in adults with mild cognitive impairment associated with Alzheimer's Disease: a longitudinal study

What is this Study about?

We are interested in visuospatial abilities in patients with possible or probable Alzheimer’s disease at an early stage. The experiment will be carried out online on a computer in your home, over three years. The information gathered will help to improve our understanding of visuo-spatial abilities in Alzheimer’s disease at an early stage. This knowledge could be used to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease earlier and to develop intervention programs.

What Will Happen in This Study?

You will be asked to complete several computerized tasks that test how you perceive, recognize, memorize, and manipulate objects that you will see on the screen. The experiment will take place over three years, and you will be asked to complete the tasks once every year. Each year, the tasks will be carried out from your home at the computer, in two parts. The first part will take place via videoconference (around one hour) and the second part is done on your own (around 2 hours and 30 minutes), over several sessions in a few days if you wish to. You will be financially compensated for your time of $100 per year, for a total of $300.

Who is Eligible to Participate in this Study?

You are eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are an adult with mild cognitive impairment associated with possible or probable Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Do not have any other neurological or neuropsychological disease.

You are eligible to participate in the control group of this study if you:
