Identifying the Support Needs of Informal Caregivers of Long-term Care Residents

What is this Study about?

The goal of the study is to investigate the support needs of the family and friends of long-term care residents, who provide them with unpaid care such as visits, snacks and clothing, hand holding, and other forms of support. The online questionnaires will gather information about caregivers' experiences of loneliness, isolation, and subjective burden, as well as their support needs and desires. The information gathered will be used to inform a MSc in Clinical Psychology Thesis.

What Will Happen in This Study?

Participants will complete a series of online questionnaires assessing their experiences of loneliness, subjective burden, and social support as well as their support needs as informal caregivers. The initial survey will take approximately 10-30 minutes, with the option of completing an additional survey to provide the researchers with additional information about the support needs of caregivers which will take approximately 10 minutes

Who is Eligible to Participate in this Study?

You are eligible to participate if you live in Canada, are over 18 years old, and have been providing unpaid care to a long-term care resident for at least 1 month.
