Understanding Swallowing-Related Caregiver Burden in Caregivers of People with Dementia (Part B)

What is this Study about?

The Aging Swallowing Research Lab is conducting a study to better understand swallowing function in individuals living with dementia.

The information you provide will be combined with information from other participants to help us better understand swallowing function in individuals living with dementia.

What Will Happen in This Study?

Participation would involve 1) a virtual interview with yourself, a caregiver, and our research assistant 2) travel to Hamilton, Ontario for a video x-ray of your swallowing. Compensation and a clinical report describing your swallowing function will be provided.

As part of this study, your caregiver will be asked to complete a brief 15-minute online survey about their caregiving experiences (please see Part A). They will be compensated for their participation.

Who is Eligible to Participate in this Study?

You are eligible to participate if you are a person living with dementia.

Person living with dementia, Person living with Alzheimer’s disease, Person living with mild cognitive impairment, Person living with Parkinson’s disease dementia, Person living with Huntington’s disease dementia
