Aging Exceptionally Well: Identifying and Characterizing SuperAgers in the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging
What is this Study about?
This study’s purpose is to identify SuperAgers – older adults with exceptional memory – within the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA) database and evaluate the relationships between modifiable factors and SuperAger status. We aim to better understand SuperAgers, and in doing so, we hope to uncover strategies that Canadians can adopt to reduce the risk of age-related memory decline. Participants will fill out an intake survey to determine eligibility. If eligible, participants will be scheduled for a 10-minute phone call and conduct memory related tasks. Participants will be compensated $5 approximately one week after completion of the phone call.
What Will Happen in This Study?
Participants will fill out a brief two-minute intake survey to determine eligibility. If eligible, participants will then be scheduled for a 10-minute phone call interview where they will conduct a series of memory related tasks. In total, the study should take roughly 15 minutes to complete. Participants will also be compensated $5 approximately one week after completion of the phone call.
