U-First® eLearning trainings

U-First!® is an innovative and unique training program, based on the PIECES framework, that helps frontline staff to develop a common knowledge base, language, values and approach to caring for people living with dementia and other cognitive impairment.

Below are the U-First!® eLearning courses available for all Health Authorities. To learn more about each type of training, click here. Click your preferred date below to register for that specific training. Please only register for one training.

Eligibility: Long-term care staff

FREE ($80 fee covered through a BC Ministry of Health grant).

Access the eLearning course through the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon's online learning platform over a three-week period, with weekly requirements (averaging two hours per week) and a mandatory one-hour Zoom webinar.

The U-First!® train-the-trainer program helps long-term care homes build internal capacity by training staff to deliver the U-First!® workshop directly to their teams as certified U-First!® Community Facilitators.
