Make Dementia a Federal Election Priority

Canada is facing a growing crisis — and it’s not tariffs or trade. It’s dementia and the personal and financial toll it takes on Canadians, our healthcare system, and the economy.

By 2030, nearly 1 million Canadians will be living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia. The impact on individuals, families, our healthcare system, and our economy is enormous — and rising. If we don’t act now, the total cost of dementia in Canada is projected to reach a staggering $2.4 trillion by 2050. We have the tools to change this future — but we need political will.

Canada’s National Dementia Strategy is the most powerful tool we have to improve dementia care and prevention. It ensures that people living with dementia — and their caregivers — receive the support, resources, and services they need. But for it to work, it must be sustainably funded.

Get Involved

Dementia doesn’t care about political lines — it touches every community, every family, and every one of us.

This federal election, we’re calling on all political parties to:

  • Prioritize dementia in their platforms
  • Commit to long-term funding for the National Dementia Strategy
  • Ensure every Canadian impacted by dementia has access to quality care

Let’s make beating Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias a Team Canada priority.
