Maureen's Volunteer Story

Maureen's Volunteer Story

Hi everyone! My name is Maureen and I’ve been a volunteer with the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County for several years. I began with Christmas gift wrapping at the mall and had so much fun with the other volunteers and community members. More recently I’ve helped out with Tag Days and, again, really enjoyed interacting with our community, hearing stories and sharing what the Society has to offer. Now, in semi-retirement, I’m assisting the Public Educators of Simcoe County and Muskoka with their delivery of virtual programs to individuals living with dementia, Care Partners and the public. I look forward to being able to meet people in person but for now I enjoy learning from participants and Society staff online. Volunteering with the Society has consistently been a rewarding experience with wonderful support from staff so if you’re thinking of giving it a try I would highly recommend it!
