Featured speakers

Christine Van Cauwenberghe (Winnipeg) is currently Vice-President, Tax & Estate Planning, with IG Wealth Management. She manages a team of legal and accounting professionals located across Canada. Christine is a tax and estates lawyer, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Trust and Estate Practitioner. She holds both a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Manitoba. She is also the author of Wealth Planning Strategies for Canadians published annually by Thomson Reuters, currently in its 13th edition.

Wendy Schettler (MPA) has a long history in dementia care. Early in her career, she spent five years working with people with late dementia in a hospital setting. She then moved to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba (ASM) and for six years worked directly with families in the areas of education and support as well as facilitating support groups for people with early dementia. She served as ASM’s Program Director for a further six years and for the last eight years has led the organization as CEO. Wendy was also a caregiver for her father who died four years ago of dementia with Lewy bodies at the age of 74.
