Our Education Team offers a range of workshops, seminars, training sessions, and educational programs for individuals living with dementia, care partners, healthcare professionals, and community partners, available in both English and French.

Our Education Programs are designed to support individuals living with dementia, their care partners, healthcare providers, and community partners. Education is available in both English and French. We also offer education for the public to learn more about dementia and how to better support those in our community living with the disease.
Our sessions provide a comprehensive overview of dementia and available resources. They cover a variety of topics including:
- Dementia and progression of the disease
- Understanding behaviour changes and how to care for someone experiencing them
- Approaches for communication with those living with dementia
- Available avenues for support and resources
- Modifiable risks and brain health
- Creating dementia-friendly and inclusive environments for those living with dementia

French Language Services
We are dedicated to supporting people living with dementia and their care partners, by ensuring that language is never a barrier to accessing the care and assistance. French Language Services are available to help people living with dementia and their care partners.

For Persons Living With Dementia
Education is available for persons living with dementia to learn more about the dementia and its progression.
- Living Well with Dementia: An overview of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias including symptoms, the impact of receiving the diagnosis and coping skills for living with dementia.
For Care Partners

Learning sessions are available for those caring for people living with dementia including family, friends and health care providers.
- Dementia 101 (First Steps for Care Partners): Explore an overview of the dementia journey in an interactive and supportive atmosphere.
- Care Essentials: Learn more about approaches to caring for someone living with dementia.
- Options for Care: Evaluate current care giving needs and explore how to use community resources to continue supporting a person living with dementia. Learn more about other possible residential care options available and the application process.
- Comfort and Care in Later Stages: This series addresses common care issues in late-stage dementia to help care partners adapt to changing needs and explore sensitive issues around care and treatment.
- Monthly Spotlight Series: Hear from guest speakers sharing their expertise on various topics to help you through the dementia journey and live well within the community. Past presentations have included Driving and Dementia, Mental Health, Nutrition for Brain Health, and Fraud Awareness.
For Health Care Providers

Education is available for health care providers to better understand the dementia journey and learn new skills to enhance their care for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

In-Person Virtual Dementia Tour

This free in-person immersive program is designed to provide valuable insights for those caring for someone living with dementia. This hands-on experience will help demonstrate what a person living with dementia may experience.
During the tour participants will use sensory-altering equipment to better understand the challenges faced by those living with dementia. Ideal for family members, caregivers, healthcare providers and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of dementia-related changes.

U-First!®
For Care Partners
For family and friends who are providing direct support to someone experiencing behaviour changes as a result of dementia or other cognitive impairments. This program helps care partners to build confidence, reduce responsive behaviours, and develop a person-centred approach to providing care.
For Health Care Professionals
Designed for health care providers who are involved in supporting persons living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. Develop a common knowledge base, language, and approach to caring for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Dementia-Friendly Communities
Dementia Friendly Communities training provides local businesses and organizations with education to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and help support those living with dementia and their care partners.
