Celebrating over $18,000 at the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5k
With the sun shining on Sunday, June 28, 60 people participated in the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5k to raise awareness for the Alzheimer Society of B.C. Many also joined in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, to help raise vital funds for the Society. To date, they have raised over $18,000!
Funds raised will go towards support services and resources for those impacted by dementia, as well as research for a cure. You can still donate to the 2015 team until July 13.
Sunny Lenarduzzi once again headed up 'Team Lenarduzzi' as part of the Alzheimer Society team. She was joined by her family, including father and Vancouver Whitecaps FC President Bob Lenarduzzi. They honoured the memories of family members Denny Veitch and Clelia Lenarduzzi, who lived with the disease.
Thank you to all of our runners, walkers and volunteers who joined us. Your support allows us to provide Help for Today. Hope for Tomorrow…® for over 70,000 British Columbians currently diagnosed with dementia.
