Celebrating the 2016 Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5k

On Sunday, June 26, the Alzheimer Society of B.C. team walked, ran, and cheered at the Scotiabank Vancouver Half-Marathon & 5k. On a sunny and beautiful Sunday, 62 participants raised awareness and funds for the Society, as well as promoted healthy living as they pushed themselves to the finish-line.

Ishver Khunguray headed up 'Team Khunguray' and he was joined by his family, to honour his father, Bachan Singh, who lived with the disease. Along with several other participants such as the Borthwick family, Delia Visscher and our own Society members they took advantage of a wonderful day to raise awareness while keeping healthy and having fun.

Funds raised will go towards support services and resources for those impacted by dementia, as well as research for a cure. You can still donate online to the 2016 team until July 11.

Thank you to all of our runners, walkers and volunteers who joined us. Your support allows us to provide Help for Today. Hope for Tomorrow…® for British Columbians living with dementia.
