Apply now for volunteer committee chair and committee positions for the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s!
The Walk is the Alzheimer Society of B.C.’s biggest fundraiser and supports people living with dementia in your community and across British Columbia. We are looking for motivated volunteers to organize and implement local events – a variety of organizing committee roles are available. The event will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2020, with planning starting October 2019.
An instrumental committee role is that of the Walk chair. The Walk chair is responsible for working with the Alzheimer Society of B.C. to plan the event in their community and support the work of their local committee. Events cannot take place in communities without the invaluable work of the Walk chair.
Walk chair applications are now being accepted in the following communities:
- Tri-Cities and Ridge Meadows
- White Rock, North Delta & Surrey
There are also select committee roles available which allow applicants to bring their special skills and knowledge to the event. These roles include:
- Accounting coordinator
- Promotion and publicity coordinator
- Recruitment coordinator
- Refreshment coordinator
- Route marshal
- Site coordinator
- Sponsorship coordinator
- Teams coordinator
- Volunteer coordinator
By volunteering on a Walk committee, you will have the opportunity to participate in a dynamic planning process with a team of volunteers and create a successful fundraising event in support of people affected by dementia. All positions offer networking opportunities and the opportunity to enhance your skills.
