Make memories matter this spring – Sign up today to Walk for Alzheimer’s
Spring is here and what better way to have fun, get active and make a difference than joining thousands of other Canadians who are working together to do just that!
For the past 24 years, Walk for Memories and Memory Walks have become the Alzheimer Society’s biggest annual event taking place in 150 communities across Canada to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. In 2014, 24,000 walkers raised $4.5 million and this year we want to raise even more. It’s one of the reasons why Alzheimer Societies across Canada are giving our walks a fresh new look and name – Walk for Alzheimer’s. By naming the disease publicly, we can fight its stigma head on. When you walk, you make memories matter. You send the message of hope to the 747,000 Canadians currently living with dementia, and thousands more who care for them.
It’s not too late to sign up for Walks taking place in May and June across Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. In other areas of the country, stay tuned for Walks happening in January. Visit the new Walk for Alzheimer’s website at walkforalzheimers.ca to learn more and how you can get involved.
