About us

The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County is dedicated to providing help for people living with dementia, and their care partners. We offer programs and services in communities right across Simcoe County.

Holding Hands

The Alzheimer Society has a rich tradition of support in Simcoe County. Founded in 1985, the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County is a registered charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. It is committed to providing the highest quality programs and services to support its vision of seeing people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias live well and thrive in their community.

The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County offers a variety of education programs for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, their care partners, health care professionals and the general public. First Link® care navigation and supportive counselling services are available to people living with dementia, and care partners. Care partner support groups provide an opportunity for family members and friends of people living with dementia to meet others who are experiencing the same journey. Social/recreational programs provide opportunities for people living with dementia, and their care partners to socialize with others in dementia-friendly environments, all while taking steps to maintain brain health.

The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County relies on the generosity of the community to achieve its goals. Funding is provided through donations, grants, and ongoing fundraising activities. Funding from Ontario's Ministry of Health helps to support the Alzheimer Society's education and public awareness programs, support services and social/recreational programs.

Support for the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County has been provided by Ontario Health and the Government of Ontario.
