Honouring veterans for Remembrance Week
Remembrance Day and Veterans’ Week is a time to respect, reflect and remember. It is a time to honour the fallen, reflect on the impact of armed conflict, and pay tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our country.
The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County takes a moment to pay tribute to those who have served in both war and peacekeeping missions, as reservists and volunteers who have offered their service for this country.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, we think of our First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples for Indigenous Veterans Day.
And on Tuesday, Nov. 11, we mark two minutes of silence to remember the fallen, and those who have served in the the line of duty for the Second World War, Korean War, Afghanistan and more.
Various services will take place across Simcoe County, with a moment of silence at 11 a.m.
Thank you for your service.
The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County recognizes all service men and women who have stepped forward to lend a hand in both war and peacekeeping efforts - here and abroad - as we take a moment to honour them for Remembrance Week.
