Vince’s Market recently hosted its annual Community BBQ at the Sharon location, raising $785 in support of the Alzheimer Society of York Region, Durham Region, and Simcoe County — the highest amount generated from this event since it began.

The barbecue was held in support of Vince’s Community Product Initiative (CPI), the company’s signature charitable campaign, which has raised $14,230 so far in 2025.

Since launching in 2018, CPI has generated approximately $193,000 for a variety of life-changing organizations, including CHATS, Southlake Hospital, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Women’s Centre of York Region.

“The turnout and generosity we saw this year were incredibly heartening,” said Vince’s President, Giancarlo Trimarchi. “It speaks volumes about the commitment of our customers, vendors, and staff. The Alzheimer Society is doing vital work, and we’re proud to support their efforts in our communities.”

New for 2025, the event also featured the debut of Vince’s Street Side Eats food truck — grilling up a variety of summer favourites for this cause and adding a fresh, fun twist to this well-loved community event.

“The Vince’s BBQ was a wonderful event bringing the community together to enjoy some food and raise awareness about the Alzheimer Society,” said Yolanda Mol Amelink of the Alzheimer Society of York Region. “We are so grateful to Vince’s for creating this opportunity to raise funds to support local families impacted by dementia, and to reach the East Gwillimbury community with information about our programs and services.”

Jaime Grant of the Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County added, “I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Vince’s for hosting a fantastic community BBQ in support of our local programs. The well- organized event was a great success, with generous donations from partnering suppliers and incredible support from the dedicated Vince’s staff. Funds raised will directly benefit individuals living with dementia and their caregivers in Simcoe County.”

CPI relies on the support of customers and vendors, setting aside 15 percent of sales of the designated Community Product — typically a staple grocery item — for the year’s recipient. Funds raised from this initiative go directly to supporting local programs.

“Thank you to everyone who supported, volunteered, and sponsored at this year’s Vince’s Community BBQ,” said Maria Ciarlandini, Vince’s Community Ambassador.

Vince’s also wishes to thank its generous 2025 BBQ sponsors: Maple Leaf Foods, M&M Food Market, Wonderbrands, Saputo, Arla Foods, Coca-Cola, and The Breezy Balloon.
