Vince's Market Let's Get Cooking program

The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County (ASSC) and Alzheimer Society of York Region (AS York) are pleased to announce a special pilot program for caregivers this spring - Let’s Get Cooking.

Thanks to the generosity of Vince’s Market, these two Alzheimer societies are bringing caregivers of individuals living with dementia together to learn about preparing nutritious meals.  Under the guidance of the amazing Chef Bev MacDonald, caregivers will attend workshops in April at Vince’s Market kitchen in Sharon (East Gwillimbury) Ontario.

Chef Bev is volunteering her time to teach caregivers how to prepare brain healthy choices for mealtime. She will be sharing knowledge and tips to support caregivers who may be taking on the role of meal preparation for a loved one for the first time.

Vince’s Market is making an impactful difference to these not-for-profit charities through leveraging their resources to support caregiver education and training. In particular, event food sponsor Andrea Diaz made this cooking program possible through sponsorship of the costs of all the food to ensure this was a barrier free program.

In addition to sponsoring the Let’s Get Cooking program, Vince’s Market initiated a corporate fundraiser through their Vince’s Community Product Initiative which raised money to support respite programs for local Alzheimer Societies including Simcoe County. The initiative is an annual campaign that involves all four of Vince’s Market stores, their participating vendors and customers.
