The Alzheimer Society Sudbury–Manitoulin North Bay & Districts (“the Société Alzheimer Society”) is committed to respecting your privacy and protecting the personal information you share with us. We recognize that trust is essential to our relationships with clients, families, donors, volunteers, and community partners, and we take our responsibility to safeguard information seriously.

What Information We Collect
We collect only the personal information necessary to fulfill our mission and meet legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Donor and supporter information, such as name, contact details, donation history, and payment information, for the purposes of processing donations, issuing official tax receipts, and communicating about our work

We do not collect or use information for purposes unrelated to our charitable mandate.

Donor Privacy and Fundraising Practices
The Société Alzheimer Society is committed to ethical and transparent fundraising practices consistent with CRA guidance and sector best practices. Specifically:

  • Donor information is kept confidential and used only for the purposes described above
  • Donors may choose to remain anonymous
  • Donors may opt out of future fundraising or recognition communications at any time
  • Donor information is not sold, traded, or shared with other organization

Protection and Confidentiality
The Société Alzheimer Society is a Health Information Custodian under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal and personal health information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Sharing Information
We do not share personal information without consent, unless permitted or required by law. When third-party service providers are used (for example, secure donation processing or mailing services), information shared is limited to what is necessary and protected through confidentiality and privacy agreements.
