2024 Awareness Month Movie Night

Every year we choose two movies featuring characters whose lives are touched by dementia. This FREE annual event takes place at the Huron County Museum in Goderich.

Each year we feature two films.that depict families, care workers, and friends managing life with dementia. They aren’t perfect and some situations are less than ideal.  But they make us ask - How would I react to the same situation? What can I learn from their successes and mistakes? And how can I learn from their laughter and their growth?

The Father (2021) Antony (Anthony Hopkins) and his daughter Anne (Olivia Coleman) navigate difficult choices - safety and independence, good days and bad days, and balncing boundaries and love. Anthony Hopkins won an Academy Award for his performance in this movie.

Supernova (2020) Sam (Colin Firth) and Tusker (Stanley Tucci) are on a road trip fhrough England to visit with old friends and family. Along the way they reflect on life priorities, struggle with ongoing loss, and their ongoing commitment to each other.
