Volunteer Coordinator

Overview
As the Volunteer Coordinator, you are responsible for overseeing all volunteer activities within the organization. You will recruit, interview, hire and train volunteers, placing them into roles based on their qualifications. You will help program and event staff by scheduling volunteers and overseeing their performance, and you will maintain accurate volunteer records for reporting requirements and to recognize the efforts of our volunteers.
What you will be doing
- Working closely with other employees to understand where volunteers are needed in the organization
- Keeping up to date with Alzheimer Society events, programs, and services so that you can relay this information to interested volunteers and match them appropriately to volunteer opportunities
- Developing recruitment and retention strategies for volunteers
- Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring volunteers
- Training and supervising volunteers
- Placing volunteers into roles based on their qualifications, ensuring they understand their job role
- Maintaining volunteer schedules where necessary
- Tracking and recording volunteer hours
- Collecting volunteer information, availability, skills and maintaining an up-to-date and accurate database of volunteers
- Planning and implementing volunteer appreciation events
- Ensuring applicable policies relating to volunteers are being followed; providing input to policies when needed
- Working in our offices, or other locations in the community between the hours of 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday; some flexibility may be required to support volunteers in their role

What we offer
- Salary Range: $36,509 to $54,764

- Flexibility: We have a flexible work arrangement policy that allows employees to work from home or telecommute based on their job role and job tasks

About the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton
The Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton (ASSL) is a community support service organization that provides programs and services to people living with dementia and their care partners in Sarnia-Lambton. We work closely with other service providers to ensure quality care and support for our clients.
