Often persons with dementia can easily become socially isolated. Staying connected socially helps you to stay connected mentally. Social interaction appears to have a protective effect against dementia. The more engaged you are, the better. Social interaction is one step towards keeping your brain healthy and may improve your quality of life and even help slow the progression of the disease.

This group is for persons with dementia and their care partners to enjoy the company of others and to get out into the community to participate in planned activities. These activities will include speakers on topics of interest, picnics throughout the community, day trips, and recreational activities such as bowling, arts and crafts and other engaging activities.

This program happens monthly, usually on the last Friday of the month. Locations, cost and times vary depending on the activity.

We also meet weekly and go on a group walk. Locations vary throughout Sarnia-Lambton and are listed on our monthly activity calendar.
