The Social

A Therapeutic Recreation Program for people living with mild cognitive impairment and early to mid-stage dementia.

The Social

The Social is a new, three-hour therapeutic recreation program designed to support individuals living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and early to mid-stages of dementia. Launched in March 2026, this program offers a welcoming, engaging, and supportive environment where participants can connect, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful activities, while also providing valuable respite for care partners.

A Space to Connect and Thrive

Led by a Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator and supported by trained volunteers, The Social provides a safe, comfortable, and inclusive setting for participants to engage in thoughtfully planned activities. Each session is designed to support overall well-being - stimulating cognitive, emotional, social, and physical health.

Participants will enjoy a variety of engaging experiences, along with light refreshments and opportunities to connect with others in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.

Supporting Care Partners

The Social is designed not only for individuals living with dementia, but also for the people who care for them. While participants are engaged in the program, care partners can take time to rest, attend appointments, or recharge, knowing their loved one is in a safe and supportive environment.

Registration & Eligibility

To ensure the best possible experience for all participants, a screening and intake process is required. This helps determine eligibility and ensures the program is a good fit for each individual’s unique needs.
