Drive for Dementia

September is World Alzheimer's Month and it is the ideal opportunity to raise awareness and funds to support people affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias in Huron County.

Drive for Dementia is a boot drive fundraiser, will see volunteers at marked road locations accepting donations from people passing through.

Drive for Dementia is conducted by staff and volunteers of the Alzheimer Society of Huron County in accordance with terms and conditions per Municipal Bylaws and the Safe Streets Act, 1999.

With the support of Huron County residents and those visiting or passing through the area, this year's 3-hour Drive for Dementia on September 20 raised $16,353.85 to enhance programs and services for those affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

In addition to all the support from the drivers passing through, Drive for Dementia would not have been possible without the support and guidance from municipal staff and councils.  Thank you to the Municipalities of Bluewater, Central Huron, Huron East, North Huron, South Huron, and the County of Huron for all your assistance.

With the help of 44 volunteers, Drive for Dementia was held in Bayfield, Blyth, Brussels, Clinton, Exeter, Seaforth, Wingham, and Zurich.
