“Jackie's presenting style and overall warm presence made the event so comfortable - the sharing and questions from the group showed they felt heard and safe to ask… clearly the Alzheimer's Society only looks to help and serve with the high standard you have helping our area.”

- Attendee, ABC’s of Dementia presentation from the Dementia Supports in Rural Saskatchewan project area

Being able to connect with people in-person again has been positive for our organization’s mission – helping people learn more and live well with dementia - and the Dementia Supports in Rural Saskatchewan project.

Our Dementia Community Coordinator, Jackie, recently travelled to Melville and Norquay to deliver our ABC’s of Dementia – Warning signs presentation and, on Thursday, September 29th, she’ll be in Kamsack hosting another one.

Earlier this month, the St. Patrick’s Catholic Women’s League from the St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Sturgis invited Jackie out to share our Dementia Friendly Communities presentation with them. They were very interested to learn about the small changes they could make to make their church and programming more accessible and welcoming for people affected by dementia and asked lots of questions about risk factors for the people they serve.

Liz Jacobsen, a reporter from the Preeceville Progress, attended the Sturgis presentation and highlighted the event on page two of their September 15th issue: Preeceville Progress 2022-09-15 by Preeceville Progress - Issuu
