Don Martel 24hr Dedication Ride
Two Countries, One Mission: Cycle 24hrs in support of the Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County.
“The Adventures and Misadventures of a Cycle Around the World,” kicks off at 6:00 PM on May 20, 2026 at the Sportsman Club (2401 Dougall Avenue.)
Don Martel will share never-before-seen images and harrowing stories from his solo journey across continents—offering a unique look at the resilience required to navigate the world on two wheels.
The stakes climb immediately following the presentation. At sunset Martel will begin a 24-hour non-stop cycling marathon through Essex County and across the Michigan border. This “Sunset to Sunset” trek is a symbolic tribute to the relentless, 24/7 nature of caregiving. “Caregiving doesn’t have a shift-change; it is a constant, exhausting labor of love,” says Martel.
This ride is a small way to mirror that endurance while uniting our international border cities in support of the families on both sides of the river who are living with this disease.”
