Matching Gift Campaign raises $150,000

Windsor-Essex County

The results of the Caregiver Rx Matching Gift Campaign reveal the highest total funds raised since it first began in 2017.

$150,000 with matching donation from GroundEffects

On Friday, September 20th, The Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County (ASWE) announced the exciting results of their Matching Gift Campaign at the World Alzheimer's Day Breakfast. The sold-out event took place on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Willistead Manor.

This year's Caregiver Rx Matching Gift Campaign raised an incredible $75,000 through community donations, the funds were then matched by campaign sponsor Jim Scott and Ground Effects Ltd for a grand total of $150,000 raised for ASWE. These funds will go a long way to help deliver programs, services, support and respite to caregivers of persons living with dementia in Windsor and Essex County.

The campaign took place over 12 weeks and was first launched at our annual general meeting on June 25th. The campaign aimed to raise $60,000 with many contributions from across the Windsor-Essex region collectively exceeding the original goal by $15,000.

Since it began in 2017, Ground Effects has been a faithful sponsor of this campaign and previously increased their 2023 pledge from $50,000 to $60,000 in 2024.  We thank CEO Jim Scott and Ground Effects Ltd for their tremendous donation and we are grateful for everyone who contributed to this thrilling final result!
