Why I Volunteer
“My experience has been incredibly rewarding. Not only do I get to make a positive impact on the lives of those living with dementia, but I’ve also had the chance to connect with other passionate individuals who share my commitment.” - Fiona, Community Speaker Volunteer
“Volunteering with the Alzheimer Society changed my mindset about people with dementia and got me interested in understanding more, and I decided to minor in Psychology.” - Julie, Office & Graphic Design Volunteer
“I was at the 2024 Walk for Alzheimer's and I was shocked at the turn up. People travelled from different places to show support. The strong sense of community was just so wholesome, and I was proud to be a part of it. It was so good to know that families affected by Alzheimer's do not have to weather it alone.” - Ikoojo, Office & Fundraising Events Volunteer
“Volunteering with the Alzheimer's Society of PEI has had a profound impact on me. It has deepened my understanding of Alzheimer's disease, fostered my empathy and patience abilities, and has equipped me with valuable skills such as effective communication, active listening, and adaptability. This experience has not only enriched my life but has also reinforced my commitment to continuing to support those affected by Alzheimer's.” - Donovan, Volunteer Companion
