Many devices are available to help people with dementia as the disease progresses. The Alzheimer Society does not endorse any specific devices, but the Public Health Agency of Canada offers a useful guide to assistive devices called Go For It! A Guide to Choosing and Using Assistive Devices.
Consult with your doctor and an occupational therapist to determine whether an assistive device is right for you and your environment. To find an occupational therapist in your community please visit www.caot.ca or contact your Alzheimer Society.
