What is Minds in Motion®?

Minds in Motion® is a fun and engaging program that combines physical activity and mental stimulation in a social environment.

Each week, participants meet online for an hour of physical activity and mental stimulation in a social environment. A certified instructor from the Saint John YMCA leads a low-impact fitness workout and then someone from the Alzheimer Society leads brain activities and group conversation.

The program is designed for people living with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s Disease or another form of dementia. Friends, family members or care partners are welcome as participants and supporters.

“[My husband] looks forward to this program every week. We talk about it the night before and the night of. It gives him something to look forward to without needing to leave the house. He loves watching the other people on Zoom, and enjoys it if he sees their pets in the pictures.” – Minds in Motion® participant
