About U-First!®

Adapted from the original U-First!® program for health care providers, U-First!® for Care Partners is a new program tailored to family members and friends who provide direct support to individuals experiencing behavior changes due to dementia or other cognitive impairment.

This innovative training program helps:

  • Enhance the well-being of both caregivers and individuals experiencing behaviour changes
  • Increase your confidence and skills
  • Caregivers respond to changes in behaviors associated with dementia and other cognitive impairments
  • Improve collaboration among all members of the care team through a common knowledge base, language, and approach to care.

Workshops are led by experienced facilitators, and participants will receive a U-First!® Certificate following the completion of the training.

Participants have the choice of completing the training:

  • In two 3.5-hour sessions or one 7-hour session
  • Virtually or in-person
  • In English or French
