Alzheimer Society of York Region Receives Two Coveted Service Excellence Awards in October

On October 16, we received the 2013 Not-for-Profit of the Year Award at the annual Business Excellence Awards Ceremony held by the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce. The Business Excellence Awards recognizes Newmarket businesses whose business achievements or community involvement have made significant contributions to the economic and social well-being of the Town of Newmarket. The award acknowledges excellence in several areas including research, growth, services, marketing and community service.

"Community Partnership Award" from Circle of Care
Loren Freid, CEO of Alzheimer Society of York Region, accepts the
Community Partner Award from Devora Schwartz-Waxman of Circle of Care
On October 7, the Alzheimer Society of York Region received the "Community Partnership Award" from Circle of Care. Circle of Care is one of the GTA's leading providers of home health care and community support services.
In presenting the award, Debbie Taylor, Vice-President of Client Services stated: "It is our pleasure to present the Community Partnership Award to the Alzheimer Society of York Regon. For the past five years, they have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the creation, development and continuity of the Circle of Care/Baycrest Day Centre for Seniors. The Day Centre is a community based day program for seniors living with Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias. Through our collaboration at the Day Centre, we have had the opportunity to see firsthand that the unparalleled dedicatin and support provided to this program by the Alzheimer Society of York Region is the standared that is extended to all programs and individuals that Alzheimer Society of York Region works with. They are a role model of excellence in providing community based and client centred care."
