Newmarket’s Bob Patterson just wants to make people smile.
The entertainer and balloon artist will be at the #IGWalkforAlz Saturday, May 25 at Lake Wilcox Park creating balloon creations for participants.
“It is just my way of making the day more fun,” said Patterson, who has also also volunteered for the Minds in Motion program for two years. “My father had what they called mixed #dementia, including #alzheimersdisease . So, I'm interested in dementia and trying to learn what I can to reduce or delay dementia. This is also a good way to try and help others with dementia.”
Patterson has played Santa at the Minds in Motion program and has shared his talent with participants. “It is important to fundraise because it seems that every year the government reduces funding for these important programs.” Patterson’s goal is to help make walk day more memorable. And “making people smile - and receiving accolades - with my awesome balloon creations.”
