Introducing the Ajax Hub!
We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new Ajax Hub located at the Grandview Kids headquarters in The Jerry Coughlan Building.

June 26, 2025
Ajax, Ontario - The Alzheimer Society of Durham Region (ASDR) is thrilled to announce the opening of their brand-new Ajax Hub. With the generous support of the Ajax Partnership Fund and the Town of Ajax, ASDR will be expanding their office and programming space to meet the rising demands of dementia services within Durham Region. The Ajax Hub will be located within the new Grandview Kids facility which opened late 2024.
In the last year, referrals to ASDR have increased by 47% with much of the demand stemming from the west-end of Durham Region. This new space will help alleviate the growing waitlists and expand dementia care in Ajax and surrounding areas. Along with additional office and programming space in the Grandview Kids Partnership Space, the Ajax Hub will allow ASDR to launch new initiatives and explore innovative programming by utilizing Grandview Kids amenities such as the outdoor Sensory Trail, indoor pool, and gymnasium.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with Grandview Kids to establish the new Ajax Hub location of the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region.” said Gillian Barrie, CEO Alzheimer Society Durham Region. “The partnership space in their facility and the amenities provided will further enhance our services and allow us to establish new and unique dementia care programs for both people living with dementia and care partners. We are honoured to be a part of this fantastic facility, the Ajax community, and look forward to working with Grandview Kids and the Town of Ajax in the years to come.”
“We are pleased to welcome the Alzheimer Society of Durham Region as our first partner in the Partnership Space at our Ajax headquarters, The Jerry Coughlan Building," said Tom McHugh, CEO, Grandview Kids. "This partnership highlights our shared commitment to improving the lives of our community's most vulnerable populations through specialized programs and supports. By co-locating at The Jery Coughlan Building, we are enabling new opportunities for intergenerational connection and community engagement, which will enrich the lives of clients and their families. Together, we are modelling what inclusive, forward-thinking care can look like in Durham Region and beyond.”
