Throughout her life, Paulette Noël has been a community-oriented person dedicated to helping others. In 2016, everything changed when her 31 year-old daughter, Marie-Claude, was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. She turned to the Alzheimer Society of NB for support and resources and has been part of the ASNB family ever since.
She started attending Alzheimer Society sessions available to her and joined the Caregiver Support Network in her area. Before long, she went from attending to helping organize the programs, while going above and beyond for the caregivers and family members travelling the same journey as her.
In addition to her incredible volunteer engagement, Paulette has made a tremendous impact by organizing fundraisers in her community. Last year, she organized the first annual book sale for a not-for-profit organization in Tracadie and it was a huge success, raising over $3,000 for the Society!
Paulette is always the spark and creative energy behind fundraising activities in the Acadian Peninsula. She works tirelessly and her efforts bring heartwarming results in addition to raise awareness. She plays a pivotal role in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer's Committee in Tracadie. Our biggest fundraiser of the year would not be the same without the long hours she dedicates every year.
Paulette is committed to being an advocate and amplifying the voices of those in our province living with dementia in memory of her daughter, who passed away in March of 2020. Well-versed and talking from her heart, she has shared her story and the many reasons behind her engagement in several interviews and media platforms. She never misses a chance to spread words of encouragement and tell others that there is help for those living the dementia journey.
Her impact has been tremendous, her commitment, passion and kindness are outstanding. Paulette truly inspires anyone who has the chance to meet her.
