Golf 2 Remember

Golf 2 Remember is an annual tournament created by Jane Simard, Betsy Sumner and Tara Morse as a way to help York Region residents impacted by dementia. This year's tournament has been cancelled due to COVID-19, but people can still help by purchasing a round a golf at Silver Lakes.

Betsy, Jane and Tara are the founders of the Golf2Remember tournament

Due to COVID-19, the 2021 Golf 2 Remember tournament has been cancelled, however, there is still a chance to help the Alzheimer Society of York Region.

How it works:

Golfers will purchase a golf ticket that is valid until Oct. 31, 2021. Ticket prices are $125 each. Each golf ticket entitles the holder to:

  • One round of golf Monday to Friday, excluding holidays at Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club
  • Use of a golf cart
  • Option of purchasing multiple tickets
  • Entry into a draw for a foursome at Silver Lakes Golf & Country Club

Proceeds from ticket sales will provide programs and services to York Region residents impacted by dementia.

Sponsorships are available. Contact Carol Dowell at [email protected] for details.

Every person who purchases a round of golf, will receive a copy of our Hearts Linked by Courage book.

Caregiver support groups

The benefit of caregiver support groups is to connect people going through a similar life experience. Participants gain a sense of empowerment, improve coping skills and find a place where they can talk openly without judgement.
